The State Competition May 14, 2011

The Competition began Friday May 13, 2011... With registration, rehearsals, and our local Title Holder Photos! There were 7 AMAZING contestants! I am very HONORED the judges selected me out of these 7 amazingly fit gals! I made allot of new friends, which was really neat because half of the girls live in surrounding area, and am sure will see soon!

Vanbros & Associates made the weekend very relaxing for us contestants! We were able to share allot of time with our families, and as a "Mrs." contestant this was important, especially those of us with little ones! ;) After Registration we began with rehearsals, with OKC's famous pageant coreograher "Rock star" Wade! He made rehearsals allot of fun! Even for the ONLY girl with 2 left feet in the competition ~ me! ;) Thank You for being so patient girls & Wade! ;)

Saturday Morning we began with our one-on-one interviews with our WONDERFUL judges at 9am! I was the FIRST contestant, but the judges were incredibly sweet so it made it very comfortable to go first! After interviews we had several hours to prepare ourselves for more rehearsals & to head to the theatre to prepare for the show!

I just want to say "Thank You Again!" to all the incredible girls! Thank You for your congratulatory support and your many weekend laughs! I hope we all continue to stay in touch & hope to see you again on the stage next year!!

About Melissa...

Melissa Pocza, a local volunteer and mother, was awarded the title Mrs. Collin County United States, and went on to be crowned the new Mrs. Texas United States, Saturday May 14th, 2011, at the Dupree Theatre in Irving, TX. Out of all the outstanding competitors that competed for the title, Melissa feels extremely honored as there was an incredible amount of talent brought by each of the contestants that had competed for the title of Mrs. Texas United States 2011. Melissa Pocza, is an Account Executive and Marketing Event Manager at Royal Case Company in Sherman, TX , and a North Texas Realtor. Her husband, Zoli, is the president of their family owned and operated global manufacturing business of over 30 years! Together with their close family, over 1,000 employees worldwide, several facilities, and a hard working family character, they have created an honest and successful life for themselves and many other American families. Although Melissa is proud of her career and their “Made in the USA!“ products, Don’t let her looks fool you! She may wear a crown & stilettos, but she can also shoot a military riffle just as well as any man. Her 0-60 classic ‘69 Camaro can top any challenger, and not only can she operate this well oiled machine, but any John Deere ever made as well! On her more lady-like side, she loves to host, cook, and entertain! She also enjoys boating with her husband, shopping with her girls, and “do it yourself” projects she tends to create at home! As much as Melissa enjoys her well-rounded activities, she lives for her family! Melissa still considers herself a new mom, as her 2 year old son, Zoltan III “Trae” keeps her on the go and enjoying the true meaning of life! Melissa and Zoli hope to continue to grow their family, as her family is the reason she strives every day to be a better person. Besides her family, career, and hobbies, Melissa enjoys buying & selling real estate as an adventure! She recently started a successful Real Estate Investing Company with her family, and manages it solely on her own! When not balancing her daily responsibilities and motherly duties, she enjoys participating in charitable organizations that impact children & teens in need of extra guidance, future ambitions, and some one to relate to. She gives time to Big Brothers/ Big Sisters & The Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Melissa is also involved in her local ISD, Special Olympics, and The AKC. Her volunteerism and fundraising activities throughout her community are significant, and as the new MRS. TEXAS UNITED STATES they will only continue to broaden and strengthen not only in her local community but throughout the state of Texas. “ I feel there’s no better way to give back, than to give back in your own community and state,” says Pocza. “ It’s important for me to volunteer locally because not only can you see a difference, but my son as well as the children I work with can witness, and see that it only takes one person to make a difference.” Mrs. Texas United States 2011, Melissa Pocza, plans to make the most of her reign, but she also hopes to share with her fellow Mrs. United States contestants a gift that she feels separates herself and Texans from the crowd...A Big Heart from a Big State with a Larger than life display of American Pride!
